YALL. LOOK WHAT I FOUND.

I was cleaning up at the dining hall and caught this out of my eye as I was leaving. That building is the old walk-in cooler. It's been used for equipment storage for like 10 years, minimum. So it doesn't need the little cooling unit, and the unit doesn't need that housing.

LOOKS PERFECT FOR DUCKS DONTCHU THINKS?????

Ok, but real talk: if your ducks are on a pond how do you keep the snakes away? I don't want to find a cottonmouth in my nest boxes.
YOU BETCHA it does!!! yeee gads I hate snakes, I come visit I best stay indoors!!!! spiders, killer skeetos, freakin gators and now SNAKES!!!!!

Trying to figure out what to do for dinner. My magic fly candler arrived today, I plugged it in, and blinded myself because my kid turned it on and I didn't realize it. took about 20 minutes for my vision to return to normal after it hurt my eyes.
oh yes, not kids toys for sure!!

Thanks for the well wishes earlier. Today sucked ***... no other way to say it.

Have to go for MRI on Tuesday on my hand and wrist. Missing another day of work tomorrow & Sunday without pay and in to do "desk duty" aka paperwork until i am cleared. Then come home to the serama I was gonna show who's comb tuned blue and lethargic. Gave him vitamins per my breeder and isolated him from other birds. Hoping it is just a vitamin deficiency and not his heart. He's eating and drinking good now but the back of his comb is still dark. But at least he made me feel useful-I got to take care of somebody and he puked on me after the vitamins just like one of my patients would lol! Kitty is home from the vet and doing well and all the other birds and pets seem happy and healthy. And the shed people called-new coop getting installed on Halloween! I'm going to separate my layers from my ornamentals or use the existing coop with run for my breeding projects (seramas still get the 3rd car part of the garage). Guess I will look at the bright side and enjoy the weekend off and hope there is no torn ligaments or tendons... PS I got a kick out of all the biting stories. We don't have kids but a little granny with dementia is good for a chomp about once a month on the ER so I feel your pain

Quote: Grandpa told me, when I was a kid, never to let a hog in with a cow ready to calve; the hog would root up inside, pull the calf, killing the cow in the process, and eating the calf. I love all manner of pork, but I'll never keep hogs; don't even want to be around them.

gross

The little tiny tail feathers...can hardly stand the cuteness.

Awwwww, cuties!

Nice find. First time I've thought of cottonmouths since I move to Ohio from Georgia.

Sorry things have been so rough. I hope the bird recovers, and you don't have any torn ligaments or tendons.

Duckling has been around so many baby birds, she did not care about the dove. But, she cried when a hen flew out of the box. I know she will develop new fears, but should I worry about this one? She doesn't mind them running around her as they burst out of the coop in the morning, and eating from the feeders as she fills them.
