I wasn't sure about badgers or wolverines, but I was trying to think of all the possibilities. I couldn't come up with cougar, either; figured mountain lion would lead her in that direction.  Probably should have included chupacabra, as well 

It might have been a badger.

So wonderul that Mira has healed with the bonus of increased human friendliness!

  I am intrigued with the size difference - like her body stopped growing while she healed. I wonder if this will be permanent or if she'll catch up.

I'm curious also. I bet she'll catch up eventually but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. She couldn't eat well at all for most of the time she was inside but her sisters and brother were out there pigging out and growing like weeds.

Chupacabra is another good guess.

It's amazing how many local names mountain lions have. Cougar, puma, panther, painter, catamount are all I can think of but there are probably others.

Yeah, I guess that's true. I'd hate to meet up with one, if they even exist. They sound like a cross between a baboon & hairless chihuahua, with a temperament like a rattlesnake on a bad day
