No. And my family responds poorly to ketamine, I won't allow them to give it to my kids. That stuff is horrible.
Ketamine acts like LSD- you can have a good trip or a bad trip but you usually don't remember anything so I'm not surprised to hear of bad reactions. But they like to use it on the pediatric population because the half life is short & less chances of cardiac and airway issues. I'm sorry your son didn't have a good experience, but from a bitten nurse-we know its rough on them and we don't hold it against them

Prayers for healing and that you get everything figured out!!!

Yeah, he had a nasal medication and gas. He woke up attacking the nurses, biting, screaming, wedged himself under the bed in the hospital and wouldn't come out. Screamed for hours. It took me a long time to rock him back to sleep so they'd discharge us. Then he slept for like 6+ hours.

15 minute tube surgery :(

They wanted to do this for an MRI and after that reaction it's like HELL NO! No way am I allowing general.

I was given ketamine, against my will during a c-section, I remember it vividly, and had flash backs. I was aware of everything, but couldn't tell anyone I was awake, and could feel things. The doctor was hurting me, I was in pain, but couldn't move, I was laso having a bad "trip" in my head, thinking I was dying, I remember praying to jesus, and realizing that they'd given me medication but it was like there was a disconnect in my brain from the logical/rational side of me, and the fear/irratational side... while being concious of pain, but not able to do anything to stop it.

Worst experience with medication I've ever had in my life, and its on my DO NOT GIVE list now. I also won't allow them to give it to my children after personally going through that. That medication could cause PTSD if a kid couldn't rationalize what had happened.
