Hey everyone. It has been awhile since I have logged on or even looked at this site, I got married, bought a 1924 house (which is be renovated by me), sold a house, started a new job...its been a busy year or so. Anyways in October 2013 Me and my partner, now husband, set up a webcam inside of our incubator towards the last few days of incubation. This time we have it set up for the entire time. I figured we all love chickens and some of you may enjoy seeing a "birds eye view" of the incubating and hatching process. Feel free to check it out.

As far as what we are hatching....I don't know. I got them from a local farm and when she asked me if I was interested in any certain breeds or a mixed batch, I told her the mix batched. The breeds of hens she has are
Lavender Orpington
English Black Orpington
Black Copper Marans
Blue Marans
Blue Breda
Ancona
Exchequer Leghorn
Golden Laced Wyandotte
Chantecler
Rhode Island Red
Amberlink
Barred Rock
Olive Eggers
Easter Eggers
Lavender Silkies
The roster is a Black Copper Marans.
We do this for the enjoyment of watching the process of eggs hatching and we love to have the chickens as pets (we collect their eggs but never eat the chickens them selves) Its more of a hobby for my husband as he likes taking care of his ladies (the hens since we are not allowed rosters where we are). We are doing 2 dozen eggs this time and will be keeping a few and have friends and family that will pick from the rest. Any questions feel free to ask. You are more then welcome to use it also if you are a teacher and want to show a class of students. We are currently on day 2 of the incubation process so really are you are going to see is the egg turner turning the eggs, but I promised the next time I would live stream the whole thing. This way I dont have to risk opening the incubator several times (or a chick knocking the cam over, its bolted down now lol). The link also will have almost daily updates from me. ENJOY!
