I have decided that I want to order some eggs online due to the fact that the particular breed I want is not really seen around my area. I have never incubated shipped eggs before and I want to do everything right so I don't just waste my money. Can someone please give me extremely detailed instructions on how to incubate shipped eggs? I've only incubated twice because I normally just use a broody hen and the eggs that I incubated always had humidity issues so I am very scared to incubate these shipped eggs!

First when you receive them you have to let them sit for 12 to 24 hours pointy end down. before putting them in a in the incubator. There is thread on here that will explain it more about shipped eggs.

Usually with shipped eggs your lucky to get 50% to hatch but all depends. I have had 100% and I have had 0% hatch. It also depends on how the eggs were packaged.

I hope this helps a little hopefully someone else will share some more info or you can find that thread on shipped eggs.

Good luck

Really good advice !! one thing you will need with posted eggs is good luck ! If your buying off ebay check feedback and follow ups regarding fertility Ive had some good and some very bad best of luck kev0

I've read a few things about the shipped eggs and I heard that some people don't let them sit outside of the incubator if it's hot outside. Is it better to let them sit in the incubator without turning for a couple of days or outside of the incubator if it's hot outside? Also could someone explain how to use cartons for the eggs? They are bantams so they are going to be small.

I put mine directly into the incubator and have seen no ill results, I use to let them sit out for 24 hours but it didn't make a difference in my results. I do put shipped eggs in racks that hold them with the aircell upright for incubation. With my own eggs I lay them on their side so I can fit more into the trays.
