Last year, I hatched over 100 duck eggs with minimum issues. This year, I’m having problems & im not sure what is going on! I have a hova 1588. Last year i did great with it set on 98.6 & humidity between 45-55% & then increasing to 70-80% for hatching.
I have 10 females & 3 male mallards. I have 4 laying right now. I’ve incubated several eggs this time but none have made it past day 20-22. I candle them & they all seem to be ok until about day 20. I’m not sure what’s happening to them. I do rotate them weekly just incase the temp may be hotter in one spot vs another. I also did this last year & it didn’t cause any issues. Any suggestions on what may be causing this? I’m so devastated, I’ve lost over 20 eggs so far & it’s bothering me to find out what may be happening.
