I didn't disconnect the "umbilical cord" from the bottom of the shell - it looks like a long, thin cord connected to the bottom of the shell, but I don't see anything that looks like a yolk to me...

Awe he looks GOOD, WOW HE ABSORBED QUICKLY. he needs to be on a wire bottom, get rid of the paper towel, the cord will shrivel up and be easy for him to get off.

Yes he needs to be on his tummy, no don't clean him off right now just let him rest, but In two hours clean him good. He needs the wire bottom to help build strength in his legs the wire will help him get traction to pull himself up..
