Incubation Question(s)

It shouldnt be complicated, the key is to make sure that both the thermometer and the hygrometer are calibrated so that you can be sure of what they are telling you. I purchased one from amazon. Its a reptile/egg incubator thermometer/hygrometer and the thermometer runs about .5deg. hotter than stated but the hygrometer is right on the money. I did calibrate the hygrometer using the salt test (easy, just look up how to do it). I use this thermometer, the incubator thermometer that is about .3degs cool and a Thermoworks chef thermometer with the probe that tests oven temps that is right on and watch all three to make sure none goes bonkers. Works for me. Not difficult. Maintaining the humidity, depending on your incubator, takes a little time to figure out. I use a hovabator 1610 (I think) and I like to keep my humidity at about 40% and to do this I use a fifth of a 6 inch sponge sliced up which I just keep moist all the time. We are dry here in S. Oregon so the humidity where you are may be different. You just need to test it. Make sure you test everything before you put your precious eggs in the bator.
