Incubation questions???

I set Pekin, Cayuga and WH eggs at 2:30 on 4/5. Does that first day count as day 1 or is the morning of the next day day 1 ?

Our HovaBator was running 101-102 for the first few days then we got it down to 99.5-100 since. I finally got a hygrometer which is reading 45%.
Is that sufficient? The bator has a pan that is to be filled until the last three days when I am to fill an additional section. Based on my first question, I will take the eggs out of the turner and inc. humidity on the 30th or 31st?

The way I count it is if it's after noon, don't start counting until the next day.

e-how says set humidity at 86%!? That seems high. I'm afraid of drowning the poor duckies. I just got Holderread's book and he recommends 65% for cleaned eggs.

So I guess I'm shooting for an April second hatch.
