Incubation using a Broody Hen????

Not sure if I posted this in the correct place? These questions may sound stupid but I'm new to chickens and really don't understand this process. If you want to collect and keep eggs for a broody hen....how long can you keep collected eggs? Where and how do you store them? I have a bantam cochin that is sitting on a plastic egg. So, will she continue to lay her own or can I collect from the other hens and place under her?
Also, how many eggs can she manage to sit on?

She will stop laying while she is broody. So you would have to collect from the other hens. As for how long they are hatchable... during the first 7 days is best. The hatch rate goes down from then on.

She just started sitting today. But, of course all my eggs are in the refrigerator.

When storing eggs on counter top.....do you put them in a egg carton? or what do you store them in? When rotating eggs do you still keep them pointy end down?

eggcartons work great...they are egg shaped! by rotate I mean like 45 one way and then 45 the other then center then....
