i built a incubator out of a mini fridge it has a lightbulb for heat a apcom thermostat, a small fan, water tray, and a thermometer / humidity reader . I didn’t put any air holes in to let fresh oxygen in I can if necessary but what I am wondering is if I’m opening the door three times a day to rotate eggs if that will provide enough fresh oxygen Without the holes put in.?

I’ve designed and built several cabinets and am a believer in fresh air/exhaust vents as well as a fan capable of pushing 15-20cfm per cubic foot at a minimum. In otherwords, if you have a 6cf fridge the fan needs to be capable of pushing 90-120 cfm. But that my 2 cents. You’ve gone to the trouble, don’t stop short. You can always put a plug in if you feel you don’t need that hole once it’s running.

I would do at a minimum a couple of 1” holes. If that’s a heat bulb, lose it. For that space maybe (2) 72w or 100w regular bulbs. You can use your keyless base with a dual bulb splitter. I quit using bulbs for heaters several years ago but they do work just fine.

Okay sounds good thank you! And this is just a regular 100watt bulb

That will serve you well once you get it set up and running. It will hatch you a lot of eggs. Also, you will find things that you want to change once you get it going.

GREAT JOB!!!!!!

Looks were deceiving from that angle of the 1st pic. Try it with that 100w and see what you come up with. If it takes too long to recover just work your way up with a splitter. So if the 100w isn’t enough, add a 40w and run it up until you are happy.
