I am developing a incubator/chicken records keeping database. So far, the features are being able to record the mortality of the hatches, the daily temperature controls and things of that nature. Should I add a pedigree section? Any ideas would be appreciated.

OMG! I would LOVE that program! I've actually searched for an iphone app for this very purpose (none exists-bummer).

I ended up making my own (very rudimentary) one using Excel speadsheets. Very basic, just the usual stuff but would love a program were I could store all of it from hatch to hatch in ONE place and reference it easily.

EGG-cellent idea!

Small world! My programmer hubby is working on my chicken trackin' software package. It'll let you track all the expenses and income related to your chickens and give you a running total. Can't wait until it's finished, which should be another couple of weeks. It would be nice to know, once and for all, if I'm making money, losing money, or breaking even.

I couldn't find anything reasonably priced on the Web that did what I wanted. Most of the sofware was targeted to large poultry operations, not backyard flocks. A I hate Excel spreadsheets! I'm a pro at accidentally deleting a formula someplace that screws up the whole shebang!

Here is a FREEWARE program for keeping track of your flock. It is oriented toward parrots, but I think will work OK for chickens. You might wish to take a look.

(I don't recall that it has any "particulars" on incubating or hatching, however.)

Worth looking at. (I couldn't find any FREEWARE specifically for chickens back when I was looking.)

Here's the "Link". (may be useful)

Thanks for the link, but that wasn't what I've been looking for. I only want to keep track of income and expenditures related to my chickens, and maybe a client list. So my package will track things like number of eggs collected per day, eggs sold, vet fees, feed costs, and so on.

Thanks again!
