Out of 18 eggs 3 hatched. The first one is doing well. The second did not do so well and will be dead by days end. The third one is just drying off and seems to be ok. I'm seeing the later hatchers don't do so well. If they don't hatch on schedule then thing are sorta stacked against them. I will be going to TSC to get a few chicks for company this morning for the healthy one and try to intergrate the 4 my broody is on when they hatch. I don't know, maybe a week between ages is to much. I'll see.

My point is just to give folks new hatching a prospective on problems you can have even though all effort was made to do it by the book. You just don't know what you'll get.

Yep, I agree, you never know how the hatching will turn out. Sometimes it's really heartbreaking, and other times, it's so rewarding!

I say, keep trying! It's a learning experience.
