I am contemplating purchasing an incubator just for final hatching, so egg turning is not required.
I don't want to spend a lot of money (up to $75), and would want one at least 40 egg capacity. What are your recommendations?...I don't mind if it's styrofoam or plastic.

Thanks

At the price range you listed and the capacity you desire, I don't think you will find anything unless you find a gently used one. I personally have the square Styrofoam incubator. The hatch rate I get, is about 75 percent. It costs around $50-$60. Then the automatic turner will run you another $50. You will definitely need a thermometer and some people like the hydrometers. I don't have one, but it would probably help improve the hatch rate. Good luck with your decision.

I settled on the Hova-Bator...it has the fan and can accommodate up to 50 eggs without the turner, and had fairly good reviews.
I also ordered a Brinsea Spot Check, Meade temp/hygrometer (which I will do the 'salt check' for accuracy) and finally a wiggler. I should have it all up and running during the next week and ready for my lockdown 7/21. Hopefully I will have some White Crested Black Polish chicks at the end of it all...

Ok...I have had my Hova-Bator set up for a few days, after a day of tweeking , and it's very consistent in holding the temp at 100deg and humidity at 70%. I filled the outer trough and had 2 small wet sponges in the middle.
My concern is that when I transfer the eggs at lock down to the Hova-Bator, is there likely to be a big change in humidity? If the humidity was lower, no problem, but if it's too high, removing all the eggs to get to the water would be detrimental to the hatching.
Any advice on this?

Thanks
