Incubator from steam iron?

Anyone used the hot plate, thermostat, etc from an old clothes iron to make an egg incubator?

Hmmm...would be neat if it got up to the correct temperature (Ihave no idea if it would or not)...especially if you could use the steam function to add humidity.
