Silkies are addicting! I love how sweet they are. I have to come up with some names I just call them baby and they come to meAfter the passing of my 9 year old ( our best guess) and very loved Silkie rooster Oly,we went and found another one so our little hen wasn't alone. My hubby thought it would be fun to see if we could incubate and hatch some babies. We put 6 eggs in the incubator,4 ended up being viable, but only three hatchedHere are the two roosters and one hen that were born in November.Have kept them in a pen in our garage over the winter until I am able to put them in the outside shed. Each morning when they hear me come out in the garage they run to one side of the pen for their morning veggies.Oly had such a laid back personality as did the hen he was with for most of his life ( I lost her about a month before him
Going to have to spend some time handling them more so they will sit on my lap like the others before him.Love this breed as they are very friendly and have such funny personalities. They are also very entertaining. Still have yet to name them as we just recently knew the sexes. Having Silkies is addicting
