Hello. Looking for additional help on a lame foot baby chick. I hatched 20 eggs over this weekend. The first one hatched stayed in there a long time and now has a lame foot. All five of the toes were very "erect" with the rear toe nearly straight up.

I put a pad on the foot to try to have a support to keep toes in good position. I took it off but found it had used the pad as a crutch. I put it back on. But it's more lame now. Barely uses it. It MAYbe straddle leg but it is hopping on one foot. I don't think it's curled foot issue. These two are the favorite topics of yt videos.

It had pasty butt this morning so I worked on that and left alone to reduce trauma sessions.

I tried a drinking glass to force it onto both feet but it just sat awkwardly.

-- eats and drinks fine
-- hops everywhere
-- engaged
-- not bullied
-- seems strong

I was encouraged to try b-complex by another Backyard Chicken member. Going to do a little bit.

Any advice?

Thanks ❤️🐥

Are these silkies? Their fifth toe usually does stick out the back. So I'm not sure why this chick is lame.

Yes, B-complex helps with healing when they have muscle/bone issues.

Could you post a video of it? To do that, post it on YouTube, and paste the link back.

Thank you for replying. I'm new and didn't see how to check messages. I'll get a video today and post here.
