Hi all,

We had 12 eggs in the incubator due to hatch last weekend. Candled at day 19 all looked fine switched the turner off, filled water. Next day 3 started piping, hatched that evening. Since then nothing has happened. Incubator wasnt opened but One of the chicks was very lively and ran all around the incubator minutes after hatching sending eggs flying.

Could this have stopped the other eggs hatching or is there something we have done wrong ourselves?? Any advise greatly appreciated..

It can take a couple of days for those others to come out. There's a few spritely ones who pop out early or on time, then usually a couple of stragglers after that.

Seems the later they start, the longer it takes them. I've always gotten at least one who pops out quick, fast, and in a hurry, then the rest take their time.

Your best bet is to let them be, and remove the chicks who are DRY and fluffy and place them in the brooder. Without hanging around at the incubator listening to eggs or anything... open it, grab chicks, close it, leave it be. Try to keep the lid down as low as possible to retain as much heat and humidity as possible.
