Hi all

We are new to incubating and on day 13. Our temp has been steady around 99.5 and we have been using 2 additional thermometers to make sure. For some reason tonight the 2 inside the incubator jumped to 106 while the one attached says between 99.5 to 100. What can we do to verify this I am worried it's hurting the babies. We have a farm innovators model 4250 incubator.

Thank you :)

If both thermometers inside went to 106 then that's unfortunately a sign they may be the correct reading. Are the internal meters the same brand? Not familiar with that particular incubator but a quick check on Amazon has numerous reviews of temperature spikes similar to yours...

One is just a regular glass thermometer and the other is a digital one. We dropped the temp and they went down lower so we put it back to 99.5. The glass one is reading 99.5 now and the digital is at 99. Our humidity is now 64% though! Incubator itself is 99.5 and 61% humidity. Ugh!

I seen the Amazon reviews I wish we had of read them before purchasing it. Should we get a hydrometer?

Thanks for the help!
