I purchased a Genesis incubator from GQF. It arrived a couple days ago and I set it up (no eggs). I was told to utilize a second temperature and humidity probe. I purchase a thermometer/hygrometer from GQF to place in the incubator to check accuracy of the incubators digital display. The temp readings have had good correlation. However, the humidity is a full 10% difference from the one on the Genesis, the Genesis reading 48% and the thermometer/hygrometer from GQF (from insde the incubator) reading 58%. Called GQF and they insist that the one on the Genesis is reliable as long as the water reservoirs are filled to specifications. I am currently trying to calibrate the supplemental hygrometer to check how far off it is from baseline. Considering the position of the supplemental therm/hygrometer being somewhat lower than the top sensor, I realize that some fluctuation is to be expected, but I'm a little uncomforable with the 10% disparity. Also, has anyone found that at lockdown that the humidity increases too drastically; if so, how do you handle that? I've read that you can leave the lid on the bator slightly ajar to compensate for high humidity. I have collected our eggs yesterday and today and will be setting them tomorrow. Any help is appreciated!

My Genesis' hygrometer is also about 10% lower. I put three thermometer/hygrometer probes in the incubator and let them sit in there for a couple of days (they were each in a different part of the incubator and it was before I put the eggs in). All three probes read the same humidity while the GQF continued to read low. I decided to go with my therm/hyg probe, which is sitting on top of the eggs.
