Incubator humidity question

I have the LG still air with eg turner, my temp is 100.4 and my humidity is at 20%. I cannot seem to get it above that. Any suggestions. I read putting a sponge in shouldn't happen until lock doen. I am not sure where I'd put it anyway. Can I add wet paper towels to the corners? Will that be ok? Humidity should be 40% -50% for the first 18 days right?

Yes it should, how are you measuring the humidity?

Are you sure the guage is calibrated?

I am checking my hygrometer now. Thanks for the advice. It may just need calibrated again.

Honeydoll....I am incubating in a LG also. I have to put small pieces of sponge in mine from time to time. I also cut the bottoms of water bottle off about 2 inches high and put a little water in them sitting them under the wire. The channels just do not do well for me. I just added a fan to mine tonight. If it doesn't make this easier will just do a dry hatch. So....do try just small 2/1 pieces of wet sponge.
