The chickens eat the roaches as well.
I thought of certain bugs with these qualifications:
they have to breed well
have to have lots of offspring at a time
Taste good in Milk( err.....no)
quick reproduction cycle
quick pupaetion time
Poultry has to love them
So my list is:
Red worms
Meal worms
Hissing Roaches
Grasshoppers
Wax worms
I have 3 out of 5. Soon I will get grasshoppers and wax worms.
I tried crickets, but the above list are herbivores and crickets are omnivores.I wont try em again. We have alot of em outside already plus cave crickets.
Some I toss to the chickens (overflow of bugs,or dead ones) and they thank me in their own way.Others I sell as bait or feeder bugs for reptiles.Except for care and maintenance, I have that covered, at very little to no cost at all.
