Incubator & movement in egg. - RIP Chip/Chipette

I am using a fan, it's built it and I can't turn it off
hmm.png

And yes my humidity is still at 72%.
I am not sure how to raise the humidity of the room it is in. (It's in a bedroom)
The bedroom also has a fan on the ceiling.
So do you still want me to open it QUICKLY and put the sponge soaked with HOT water in it?
Thanks !

Just came back from being in there watching him/her.
It is chirping and NOW pushing hard at the opening it made yesterday. He/She pushes & pushes & pushes but does not get that piece off.
It is working hard now, I think it may get frustrated and start hitting next to the spot it made.
What's your thoughts?

How does the membrane look? is it still white or does it look brown and dry?

To be completely honest here, I don't know what the membrane even is.
hmm.png

I thought the membrane was a part of the body but I'm not that smart in the 'egg' membrane part.
If it is the membrane of the duck itself, then I can't see it so I wouldn't know.
If it's the egg itself, it's still white as ever.
So, what is the membrane of the egg?

The membrane is the white part under the shell they usually pip through it first then start to work on the shell.

Ohhh, should of thought of that.
Yes, from what I can see (which is a little), the membrane is still very white.
He/She is still chirping but from what I hear, he/she is pipping but not at the spot of the opening he/she already made.
I am going to the use the Steth very well today. :p

Duckling has probably turned in the egg, just keep the steth close by and keep giving updates. Hopefully soon you'll see a lil bill poke through.

I will definitely keep up with the updates :D
And when you say he probably turned in the egg, do you mean to the pointy end or just like shifted on his other side so he may be facing the other side of the egg now?
Thanks !
OH & should I do the hot sponge in bator or no?
Good without it?

I would not open bator if in the bedroom. The progress sounds really good. Your ducky should establish a pattern of rest/activity and so long as he continues to do his thing, leave the bator alone. It is normal for them to work on enlarging hole in same place for hours, then turn position and zip the rest of the shell quickly when they finish hatching process.

Oh so maybe he/she is turning to work on another part to zip through? Sounds good.
He/She is is still working on the same part it seems, I saw him pip at it once but now I think he is resting because I sat there for about 5 minutes but no chirps or pips.
The other side of the egg is faced against another egg so if he/she is working on that side, I wouldn't know.
I will keep up with updates. Thanks !
