Incubator Newbie.....ISSUES for sure

So, I have a little giant 11300......fan/turner/everything. We failed with our first round, the second round we started today and put the thermometer to the side corner.....this thing has terrible instructions. Where exactly do you put the thermometer? And do you think I cooked my eggs today? They were in the incubator with the thermometer reading 99.5 in the corner and when we moved it to the center directly under the fan it read 104.

I have 3 incubators. Thew away all the Chinese components. . Kept the shell and used inkbird stc1000 thermostats. Used light bulbs for heat..work better then elements. . Have had great hatches since.
