Incubator Question!! only my 3rd time!!

Okay i was wanting to know i have a little giant incubator, and when tey start to hatch should i let them all hatch before i open it and take them out??? we have 39 in the bator we had 41 but 2 were not fertile! Due to hatch on the 27 Whoo Hoo ill be sleeping in the basement for days!!!

You should let them all hatch, but you shouldn't leave any babies in there longer than 36 hours tops. These are chicken eggs, correct? The reason I ask is that different species have different requirements.

Yeah, just leave them in there up to 3 days after hatching and they'll be fine. One thing I noticed with my LG is that it was very difficult to get the humidity up. One way to solve this is by putting 'strips' of sponge in the water troughs and laying a paper towel on the floor of the incubator. The paper towel will wick some of the water out of the troughs and increase the humidity very well. Or you could just put a paper towel in there, with a wet sponge on top. Paper towels are the best for increasing humidity in my opinion

Yes, it should be wet. If you use the sponge strips in the troughs with a paper towel on the wire, it will get wet on its own. The paper towel with sponges on top, the sponges should be wet, which will make the paper towel wet. What I like best about either of these is that the sponges help keep the paper towel wet, as it dries out very quickly.

okay i think i got it thanks for the help, i have a sponge in there now it keeps it at like 40 % we have a turner, should i also fill up the slots in the bottom???
