incubator question ???

my incubator is at 99.5 -100 everywhere when i tested and started now on day 5 noticed one side is 102 103 and the rest is still 99.5 -100 should i move all the eggs to the one side or should i not worry about that 102 reading on the one side "its a hova bator with a fan

I have a similar issue with my incubator it is a farm innovators fan model. The left side seems to stay a couple degrees warmer for some reason. It seems to me that fan must not circulate the air very well in these small incubators so far I am ignoring the difference and gonna see what happens. I have a full load in there so I can't move them to the other side. Maybe I will rotate them when I candle I'm not sure yet

it is frustrating let me know how your hatch goes i only have 24 so i moved them over to the normal side ill let you know how it goes

YOu can put all the eggs on one side if they fit.

I used a special thermomter tha measured and reported the highest temps and it scared the bejesus out of me. I learned that that was part of the temp cycling and it was only a few minutes. I stopped using those thermomters because it was mis information.


In the end The eggs tell if the temps were too high or too low, or just right, and calibrate the thermometers from there.

i candled my eggs today day "10' only 3 were infertile so down to 21 eggs

11 more days to go yay !! when should i candle them again ???

Around day 14 or 18, I think. But I'm a candling junkie, so I candle a couple when ever I turn them. After day 14, i'll lay them flat in the incubator, and can candle them without even picking them up.

what other signs do you look for i saw some moving from the light was very cool

Days 4, 10, and 18, are usually recommended, 18 being the day you take them from the Turner if you use one and our them in "lockdown" I skip day 4 because it's hard for me to see anything through the brown shells that early in development, at least it is for me. I mainly just look for veins and a dark spot where the chick is developing and odd course make sure the air cell is growing

After day 10, I look for activity, also, check air cell size. Don't let absence of activity worry you, as the chick may be resting when you check it.
