What about lysol wipes followed with a damp towel???

I have never done that, but I would say as long as you wipe off all the residue after with clear water it should be ok. I really want to invest in a big bottle of Oxine. I have heard it is the best thing to clean all your chicken stuff with.

Where can you get the Oxine at? Maybe we could go halves on one and split it?? Let me know. Thanks for all your help with all of this!!!

I have done a lot of reading on Oxine on here and you don't need the activator chemical. It just makes the Oxine more potent. I want to check out local Big R stores before ordering it online. But I have seen it in a big gallon jug which will last a really long time for $25. It is supposed to be great for cleaning waterers, feeders, even roosts and coops if you make it into a mist. And it breaks down after a while so it is safe for the animals.

What chemicals do you guys currently use to clean out coops, waters, Brooders, Incubators?

I don't use anything. I just take the waterers and what not and scrub them down really good with the water from the hose. Not sure it would do any good to use anything as exactly the second I put the clean waterer down at least one chicken will walk right through the middle of it!!! Silly chickens!! I am ordering some chicken nipples to make a mess free waterer for them.

I don't use anything to clean out coops etc but I do bleach my waters and feeders before I let new chicks use them, so they get a fresh start. I have heard that if you needed to clean a coop because of an illness or other problems that misting Oxine will kill most of the bad stuff. It can even be used to heal the chickens if they get a respiratory problem or illness.

Hey guys I was telling cackydoodledoo that you should really check your temps in your new incubator if you have the digital display. I have read a number of threads on here where their digital reading was between 1 to 3 degrees off and it really can affect your hatches. Until you get to know your incubator it is a really good idea to stick a glass or cheap digital thermometer in their and do a check of your digital display. Do a search of "temps in Brinsea" and you can see the threads I am talking about.
