I have an old cabinet incubator, it has always been reliable. This year I fired it up, had a bit of trouble with the temps and thought it was the wafer. Got it to 100 for a few days and put eggs in.

Just noticed that the temp was down to 90! I got it up to 98.8 and still fiddling with it.

Will everything have died from the temps being at 90? I had eggs going into the hatcher today and everything looks like it died a week or two ago.

I have some newer eggs that went in and I candled them and they are about a week in and you can see the veins and such, definitely alive.

:(

So sad about this. Don't know how I didn't catch it, I check the temps all the time, I must have been having a sustained brain fart. I have moved a digital thermometer in there so now I can't possibly miss such a big temp drop.

I will candle the rest of the eggs in the bator tonight and see. I have a dozen marans eggs from a new bloodline that I can't see through- those are the ones I'm really interested in seeing if there is life inside.
