I had a friend of mine call me about a month ago and said he was getting terrible hatches. He asked if I would stop by and take a look at his incubator and see if he had problem. When I got there and asked to see his incubator ( GQF Cabinet Model) he lead me to his garage where it was at. First thing I noticed is that the therm. was reading 102 when it should have been 99.7. I asked why it was set so high. He replied that is wasn't but every morning when he went to work it would read 99.5-99.7 and when he got home it around 3:00 pm that it would be up to 102+. I suggested first he take it inside and was quickly told his wife wouldn't stand for it. So we had to improvise. I told him to try freezing a couple plastic bottles full of water. He did it and said it worked great. Just replaced the hot ones with new froze ones every day before he came home for lunch. His hatch rates doubled and we also figured out that the condensate on the bottle really helped the humidity when it was time to hatch. Figured this migth help anyone who might have the same problem with your incubatorsif for some reason if they were not in a temp controlled room.
