Incubator vs Hen

My 5 spring hatchs (one early spring; 4 late spring) were all hens. Should have as many as 3 popping out next week, so we'll see.

Broodies raising chicks has been for me the best part of raising chickens. It's amazing to watch. And then 6 weeks later .... boom! "I don't know who you children are. Get away from me!"

This will be my first year also. I already have broodies trying to sit eggs, but I'm worried it's still too early to hatch chicks. I am considering getting a small incubator as well. Should I incubate if I'm to get rid of the chicks. I don't know how I feel about taking the babies from their mother.
