They can stay in the bator for 2-3 days. I personally, remove my chicks from the incubator to the brooder after they have warmed up and are active. I keep my humidity up there (75%+) during hatch so that I can open the bator w/o worrying about jeopardizing any pippers. Many people feel that you leave your chicks in until the end and you do not open the bator for anything. I do not suscribe to that methodology. I feel it's a personal decision that should be made based on the humidity in your bator and your comfort level.Great yes! So I am on day 21 now after both bantams appearing yesterday. There is a hole in one of the 2 other isa brown eggs this morning. Really love to get those bantams out as one of them has been hatched for 18 hours now. Lots of cheeps and brooder ready to go. I read mostly that they don't needfood or water for first 48 hours, but someone told me I must get water to them in first 24 hours. Is this true? Thanks.
