I'm new so I don't know if this is a stupid question: Do incubators and brooders do the same thing ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am new too!!! A incubator holds the eggs and warms them like a mother hen would, while they grow in the shell and hatch. Afterwards, you would put them in a box, [ or something like one] with a heat lamp, food, water and such. After they are fully feathered and look like mini adults, u can put them in the coop!!

An incubator is how you keep the eggs the right temp so they will hatch (like a mama hen would sit on her eggs)

A brooder is an area/fish tank/plastic tote used to keep chicks in till they are old enough to go outside in the coop.

You can search (above) brooder and you will see tons of pics !!

Hope this helps !!

You got it! The incubator is your hatcher then the brooder is where they go to be raised.
