Sounds like you need;
A foam egg carton with lid removed
Insert into a plastic type shoebox with holes punched in it.
A small container of water in plastic shoebox.
A thermometer in the plastic shoebox
Set Under a lamp you are going to leave on for 21 or more days depending on the eggs type. Happy hatching!

So.. wait. Would this work for an "on the spot" incubator? I'd never considered incubating in something like that.

When I had all four incubators going and all Cochin Bantans loaded, their wings were spread out to cover the eggs, I bought the dollar plastic shoeboxes from walmart, use my plastic easter egg halves and set a thermometer inside the box at a slight tilt si I could close the lid after I punched a couple of air holes in it and set the lamp I was going to use as a brooder light when the purchased eggs sitting in the purchased incubator hatched, well make sure it is aimed at it. And yes it works and all it cost was a dollar for the plastic shoebox.

I am Going off line till Friday late afternoon or evening. I have much to do and I would not want to be on so much in everyones business. Besides I am very busy with my hobbies and MY LIFE. I was responding to all the private messages sent to me here at this site and I was tempted to look and then respond.

A Thermometer just tells you the temp.... a thermostat CONTROLS the temp.

this works, but leave the two spaces next to the motor empty. the heat from the motor affects those eggs (amazing but true). I did this once with double layers of eggs.

Can you put double layers of eggs in that plastic turner I posted the picture of? How would that work without the top layer of eggs breaking or something? Would the lower layer still get turned?

8 out of 15. With 15 internal pips.
Baby number 6 still has what looks like his intestines out? No assists this time. Looks like maybe shrink wrap inside the egg? Everyone was perfect at lockdown...

Thoughts?

Not enough moisture maybe? AND it sounds like the egg has not been all absorbed. Let it do it's thing and absorb the rest of the egg yolk? Maybe someone at a Hatchery or a farm where they are really large and experienced with this would know.
