Incubators Anonymous

nope but that's what they used prior to electricity being common... some of the first incubators commonly used on farmsteads were kerosene.
I have an old Kerosene one that I picked up sight unseen but after getting it decided it was too nice to convert over to power. It sure is neat looking.

I have heard that they work well...

I wouldn't be converting it because I need one that doesn't run on electricity. The fact that they look nice is a bonus.

I have been looking for one...I wonder if the Amish stores sell them?

I added a photo, I'd be willing to sell it for what it cost me plus shipping to get it to you. $100 plus shipping. I really have no use for it and didn't know what it was before I bought it. I just heard "Incubator" and my brain scrambled, most of you know how that is!!

That is an awesome deal...cool looking too. Have you tried using it?

I am sort of looking for the wooden cabinet type. It would be good to find one locally too. I know there must be one in Maine somewhere.

Anyway, thanks for giving me first crack at it

Nope never tried it, seen it was kerosene and give it a once over when I got home. Found out it was over a 100 years old and the label is still intact and excellent so I was scared to even do anything with it. I've seen many im CL for sale for well over $250. I think of I were in your situation I'd try and build my own as I've built 4 now using junk I've hoarded over the years with success. Good luck finding one, check Craigslist!

Anyone got any experience with the Rcom mini? So far I'm impressed, but I wish I could manually control the temp and humidity.

Doin' the happy dance!

Way to go!

What kind of turkey's? Please share your incubation stats: temp, humidity, turning, when did you lockdown, did you lower the temp towards the hatch, etc. etc. etc...Inquiring minds want to know!

I have that bator too and hatched two whole midget white turkeys last Sunday. Want to see if I can change what I did and do better next time. Thanks! And congrats!
