I have been hatching and selling most of them, just finished filling that order for 100. But yeah, sometimes I sell them at auction either on BSA or the 24 hour crazy auction. Want some?

Do you think the buffs are better layers than the RIR's? I'm all about production with what I choose next. I can't keep up with the people that want eggs from me!

Right now my Reds are my high producers, but when they are not moulting, my Barred rocks are better than the Buffs. But I sell hatching eggs locally too and I could not produce enough Buff eggs last spring . People love them. I just bought a flock of production reds and even after I moved them they kept right on laying. I never have enough eating eggs for sale because I hatch so much:-D To keep myself from hatching the production reds, I didn't put a rooster in there.

they can do that?

i'd rather hope that getting 2 eggs from the dorking pen means both hens are laying finally

got 7 eggs now, waiting on cochins to get here so they can all go in the 'bator. and of the 15 that came with my soggy broody, looks like 9 in the 'bator are good (1 ? 1 blood ring) and the 4 under her, at least 1 is good (she pitched a fit so i didn't look long). oh and she LOVES being a house hen. 8) gets nightly socialization and wander around for a bit, all the food she wants without having to go far, and chickies to talk to in the neighboring tub.

Okay, now the production reds are what I really want to get. Those are what I have now and I just LOVE them. They are laying machines. I could order some pullets off mypetchicken but they ship on Dec. 2nd or something, and that seems really cold to me.

Occasionally a hen will lay two eggs in one day. I have never had so many do it all at once before. My Lavender Orpington does it sometimes, I just have one hen so it must be her.
