Incubators Anonymous

I have a question, I am after an incubator for hatching and have been offered a Hovabator 1584A with no turner. I have also been offered a Lab Oven that can also be used as a hatcher. If you were in my shoes what would you go for and how reliable are the Hovabators? I have heard lots of good things about them but also have heard they can fluctuate in temp also.
Thanks in advance
Both. You can never have too many incubators & hatchers. The turners are standard size & can always be purchased later.

""""You can never have too many incubators & hatchers""" This is Not True----I had to move several styrofoam incubators(all with egg turners) to a storage building so I could get my Cabinet incubator and cabinet hatcher into my incubator room with the 5 other styrofoam incubators I kept in the room, but I will have to get a bigger room if I add the other GQF cabinet incubator and other cabinet hatcher I also got in storage----If I ever need them. LOL TO MANY INCUBATORS!!!

x2! and an incubator room too!

That's a lot of chicks!  So what is the teacher going to do with 23 chicks? :idunno .....or is that where you come in?

The chicks are mine. :D some are my daughters 4h bantam Cochins she is super excited about them. They are super cuddly they climb right in your hand when you reach in!

A few parents have asked if they can buy some but when I asked if they knew how to care for chickens I pretty much got a how hard can it be? Kind of answer... So no. No you cannot buy my chickens! Lol I told them if they were really interested they should do research and check back in the spring when I hatch again.

The last set of chicks I sold all died bc the lady thought a rice pack and a blanket would keep them warm. She called me after they all died and asked why I sold her sick chickens... It took some talking to figure out she thought the heat lamp was too hot so she turned it off... Brilliant! But I don't sell chicks anymore bc of that.

I only have one incubator, it is the incubator room with the separate hatcher and 3 upright brooders. I have enough and then some. The bator holds 540 eggs and then the hatcher can hold more than 200. I could set 270 eggs a week and never blink.... well I would run out of room. I don't have that many brooders.

42 eggs set in the classroom hatched 24 hatched one died half hatched though. There are 23 live chicks!
Congrats!! Woohoo! Fluffies!! They're so cute!

DONT BUY JN products. They are very unreliable. I bought one and wish I'd saved the money and bought an incuview from incubator warehouse.
I'm sorry if I've asked this before (my memory isn't great, yay old age) which one did you buy? I'm always curious about them but I just can't bring myself to spend the money on one since I've seen such mixed reviews.
