I have 3 more Leghorn/EE 1 lav and 1 Split

13-14 more had pipped.

My girls are really laying too... got 20 eggs today that was a record. I got 2 from the Blue Marans roo pen/ 1 from the Black Marans roo pen... 2 from the Lav's pens and 2 Olive Eggers all for hatching.... I have to test the hatch before I sell them right?

What do you guys pay or sell hatching eggs for? The Marans I am thinking $18 for 6 and $30 for 12 what about the Lav Splits? is $35 too much? The Olive Eggers I just don't know? $20


Tell me what you have and sell them for, what you have bought and paid. I want to be fair, but I don't want to cheat myself either. I don't have many to sell but anything helps the feed bill right?

I'm asking $30 per doz on the dorkings, but not selling any rigt now since the roo's on vacation LOL

My new babies are all DEAD!!!!!

My hatcher was 113* this morning and they were GONE!!!!

18 beautiful little babies

2 lav 4 lav/splits and 12 leghorn/EE my breeding and laying flock

I turned the thermostat down, to test it, a lot really and it was holding at 99-100* for maybe 2 hours we left and came back and it had spiked to 109* it has to be that the thermostat had gone bad..... WHY?????? It was only a few months old..... I will replace the thermostat with the same type that is in the incubator. Maybe next week we will work on the new hatcher with a better thermostat.

Any suggestions? I have kinda lost faith in the WHT......

Donna, So so sorry the eggs will not be hatching. A great disappointment.

Most of my hens are on vaca. At best 6 eggs a day. No EE, NO marans. Just a few dedicated layers. Seems like since the extreme cold of 8 degrees a few more girls quit laying. Can't see any other reason for it as the days are getting longer-- aren't they? DH bought eggs for us so I can sell the farm fresh eggs to customers. It's been too cold to work on the breeding pens.
I 'm dreaming of warm spring and lots of eggs to hatch . . .

Donna, So so sorry the eggs will not be hatching. A great disappointment.

They all hatched. 2 were still drying off and I opted to leave them in and not put them in the brooder.

I don't have any hatching.... sorry. The babies that died had all hatched and were drying when the hatcher over heated.
