I'm in Anoka county just north of Ham Lake.

The chicks I posted I received locally, but the person who gave me the eggs is not keeping her flock. She had chicks shipped from a well known Texas breeder.

I am going to keep them penned like that through spring. Nashville people can only have pullets/hens so Sexlinks are going to be a big seller next spring.

I do think we are all daffy-- it is only just fall, still summer really , and we are planning next seasons breeding pens!

black copper marans
OE/OE
black copper marans / EE hens

Decision, decisions!

ANd I have a number of black barred hens. SOme lay brown eggs, some green eggs. Many of EE decent. I have red rooster that lay brown eggs. Black roosters that lay chocolate eggs and black roosters that lay blue --not that they actually lay -- you know what I mean!

I checked the guinea eggs yesterday and only a few are not developing LOTS of guinea are coming soon. Might have more chicks today. The GNH are in lockdown.

The guy that wanted a bunch of pullets called last night and said he had to cancel! I was really looking forward to hatching them! I am still going to line up a buyer for them because I have someone that will buy all the cockerels. Maybe I will keep a bunch of them and sell them at pol in spring.

Sorry for laughing! You have a buyer for the cckls but not the pullets; usually it is the other way around.
