If I had a place to put all those girls... I could fix them right out. I have about 100 chicks due to hatch today

I also have one sweet little lavender split Am that has gone broody. She has no cares when I take her horde away daily.

I have same thing going on.. there are 6 nest boxes in the main coop and every time look they are all full of girls just sitting and some are doubling up!! I got 2 eggs yesterday from 14 hens :( .. this is the reason why the broody who started it all is now in my closet. apparently it's contagious.

I have been chasing them out and taking all the eggs since i did my cleanout a couple of days ago, how long does this usually last?

Closet Mama says Hi! and growls at me when i change her water..

Unfortunately its the season for broodies - its sort of like spring fever, they don't have to see another broody - but it does encourage them when they do..

So.. from no pips to 7 chicks - in one day!

One Buff/Partridge, one Black, one looks silver - and 4 Blue (some with red leakage)

There is nothing wrong with that, right? I've got two broodies in the basement, chicks in the back hall, chicks in the spare bedroom, roosters in the garage (adoption pending) plus 2 broodies with their chicks outside and my regular flock too. House is um, a tad stinky. No guests except close friends and family (or emergency services).

Need to work on my timing. This is a bit nutty I admit.

My 1 broody finally gave up at the end of last week. SHe has been hogging the 1 box--the other girls squeeze in and leave her an egg to tend!!
