I started out with a foam LG forced air w/turner and my first hatch was 10/5/12. Little did I know that first taste would turn into a major habit!

Now I have a sweet wine cooler incubator with an Incukit and extra fan - http://seventreesfarm.wordpress.com/2013/12/16/new-incubator-more-trial-more-error-more-fun/
I still only run one turner full at a time, but it's so cool to have the giant glass door and ceiling light to watch my peeps hatch. There is room for lots of hatch baskets which I need for my crazy Oliver experiments. Once I load it up, it takes a few hours of adjusting to 'dial it in', but once I do it stays rock steady. I just top up the water once in a while.

I have a batch of eggs from 6 different hens crossed with my Ameraucana roo ready to hatch on the 17th. As soon as they clear the deck I'll be pulling eggs from the pen with my golden cuckoo marans roo. That will be my 4th hatch this year. I might buy some shipped marans and ameraucana eggs after that, just to bump up my Oliver gene pool

.

I have 6 BYM x CX chicks hatched so far (50% hatch rate but not done yet.) And more pips. And 1 duck is externally piped and a couple more starting I think. These are an important milestone for me and need to see how well they do for meat birds.
A bunch more due this week and the next (Mostly duck eggs that week)
Just set my 4 sets from breeding pens. And plan on doing another 4 next week. Then maybe cut back to 1 or 2 breed pens/week. I am not hooked or do I need a "9 step program" . I am making $$$ this year, which is I think only the 2nd ever with poultry so I get encouragement from family. So I'll just keep hatching and having a great poultry adventure.

The 6 RP eggs I found under my Broody blue slate at her hatch time, about 2 weeks ago, cause I didn't know the RP was even laying yet! Well I had stuck them in my hatcher because no room in the bator, then moved them over ASAP. Yesterday I emptied my hatcher, & put them back in because I have NO IDEA when they will hatch, since I have no idea when they were laid. Lol

I got lucky!! The 1st one pipped last night!!! This will be my very 1st RP baby! I have so many people asking for them its crazy!!! I have these 6 that'll hatch... Soon I hope, idk. Then 8 to go into the hatcher on the 30!!! I can't believe what people will pay for these vs my chicks! Lol

CONGRATS! It's adorable! I had my first "loner" hatch last week. She's a Rhodebar and the only one to hatch from 14 shipped eggs and has now become a spoiled lap chick! I tried to put her in the brooder with the other chicks a few days to one week older but they picked on her relentlessly so now she has her own box and goes everywhere with me! What kind is your cutie?
