So excited, I have a full hatch of just my own eggs going! Dark Brahmas and Sulmtalers. It's so nice to hatch my own eggs and not have to deal with the stress of shipped egg issues

Quote: I agree 100%. No comparison. Hands down. I enjoyed some this evening and it always tastes so good.. It is comforting to know that the bird led a good life until his very last day. That definitely cannot be said for the meat purchased at the grocery store. I also like the fact that we aren't wasting....

Yea! My daughter lives far away and I told her how sad it was that we couldn't be together for Easter and how I miss not hiding eggs. She surprised me and said she is sending ME eggs this year! Hatching eggs! I think she was trying to win some Salmon Favorelles and I know she got me some Silver and Gold laced wyandottes! Got to get my incubator back out of the closet! YEA!

Yep, another incubating addict here. 2 doz Americauna and 2 doz BPR in the bators now and plan to have them running all summer. It's so much fun. I guess if you have to have an addiction, it's a good one to have. Happy hatching!

Can muscovie ducks be hatched with chicks? Are they "special needs" like higher humidity, misting or anything? I'd really like to have some but i'd hate to have to wait on someone to go broody. Shipped eggs are risky enough.

Yes I think Muscovy's are special needs but I'm not sure what specifically. Maybe it was a different # of days, like 35??? You might try posting in the duck section, or searching for Muscovy incubation or maybe someone else here in IA had better info for you...
