I am a hatchaholic. I think it may be a secondary symptom of being chickenaholic. I started with a styrofoam bator and an ebay account. Now I have a brinessa 20 egg, and an ova easy advance. No only do I hatch tons of eggs, but I mail order chicks so much that the post office workers give me funny looks. My husband has also grounded me from eBay on occasion...

Hello, my name is Nadine and I am a hatchoholic!
A few years ago my boyfriend agreed to 2 or 3 chickens as pets, that totally got out of hand, but he stayed with me through all the early morning crowing, chicken poop on the porch, eggs taking up all the room in the fridge and birds trying to get in the car with him to go to work with him, what a great guy he is to put up with my addiction.
I currently have several adult birds in one coop and running all over the yard, 6 ducklings in the grower run with pool, the heated grower run currently has several bantams, polish and silkies, in it. Inside the brooders there are the younger bantams, sultans, more silkies and d'uccles. I have bantam polish eggs due tomorrow(3 are pipped already), bantam la fleche the week after, the week after that due to hatch are several guineas and turkeys and I just set a few more of my project bantam eggs in the few free spaces I had left. 2 completely full incubators...again. I don't have room for all of these birds, I will have to let them live in the house and sleep under a bridge, maybe beg at the street corner for coop building money. Is there a rehab program for people like me?

I am an incubator- aholic. I held off as long as I could. I now have 3 incubators running and will start cleaning out my big Jamesway to morrow. May God help me since I can't seem to help my self when its hatching season.

What is hatching season? I have winter and summer layers, hatching season begins Jan 1st and ends Dec 31st

Welcome new people to this thread!! To make you feel better, I have 4 styro bators and three home made bators. I hatch eggs on two continents and have 300+ eggs in incubators spread over 7500 miles but a capacity for 600. I have 272 eggs planned for travel with me in May. I am building another 120 egg bator this weekend

hello everyone I just or should I say the Good Lord and the incubator just hatch a batch of 14 cute little mixed chicks. I plan to run a hatch a month till September, does that qualify as an addict

I have never had an incubator, but I get excited to give my girls eggs whenever one decides to go broody. I can never turn down a broody hen. I count the days until I go into the coop and hear the little peeps under her. It never gets less exciting.
