Usually when your chicks hatch at the wrong end, it is how you are storing them until you put them in the incubator. They need to be gathered and put pointy side down in an egg carton. Store them in a cool spot and turn them at least twice a day. Or put a book under one end of the carton and then move the book to the other end. My friend was saving me some eggs and when I went to pick them up, she had them in a big bucket laying all which way. Many of them were born at the wrong end. Last time I found she put the eggs in the carton, a few she had upside down. I wouldn't put them in the bator until they sat for a few days turned the right way. they all hatched right...every one.So my eggs that pipped at the wrong end, again, hatched. At least 4 if them did. Another one looks like it may not make it. Plus I have 2 new baby silkies from my broody hens. Still haven't figured out why my last 4 batches have failed. I've done nothing different then I did last year.
