Incubators Anonymous

Where do y'all find most of your incubators? I've been staring at CL till my eyes bleed, but not sure which category.
C'mon, I want one that holds 300 hundred eggs... C'mon CL...
I make mine but the
Sportsman 1502 tops out at 270 chicken eggs. $697 https://www.gqfmfg.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=68
Brinsea Ova Easy holds 300 chicken eggs $999 https://www.gqfmfg.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=68
Dickey Incubators holds 282 chicken eggs $607 http://dickeyincubators.com/products.htm

I had a vendor ship me very small peafowl eggs. I contacted him. He mislabeled the packages. Somebody else is in for a shock when they hatch their jumbo swedish flower hens.
personally I think you got the benefit of the deal on that one... LOL then again, I've already got sfh. I just need to pen them and start setting eggs in a few weeks.

normally I would agree as i got a full refund but peafowl season will be over next trip. getting paperwork is a pain.

i have done pretty well out of hatching sfh in my socal bedroom and selling them.

Hi my name is kaylee and Im a hatching addict. Right now I have 37 guinea eggs in my little giant incubator and only one isnt showing any developement so far. Plus I have 13 d'uccle chicks in one brooder and 4 turkey poults in one of my other ones.I have 40 d'uccles all together, every time I see an auction or any eggs ftom these little buggers I almost imediatly want to get them.I also have 5 button quail pullets and 4 button quail cockerels in one of my other brooders. I have 25 of those little birdies. I'm having a hard time trying to not put 4 more eggs in the bator to fill it up I hate having an odd number of eggs in their. Plus I have a bunch more adult birds most I hatched my self. I still want more lol :p I wouldn't have anything in my bator if my guinea hadn't hid a nest and go broody on it. I would have let her keep them if she wasn't so valuable. :/

Welcome & wow! May I ask, what do you do with all the birds you hatch? I ask because I'm almost as bad at hoarding mine as I am hatching them. Lol. I hate to part with any of them.

haha usauly I try taking them to swaps but I have a hard time parting with mine as well
The button quails are the hardest to get rid of cause everyone thinks they are baby chickens due to their small size.Guineas are the easiest to get rid of chickens are all right as long as they are friendly.

One for my chicks just hatched that piped yesterday morning at 8:30. It is missing an outside toe. The other foot looks fine. If it interferes with its mobility then we'll have to cull. This is the part that I hate about hatching. It makes me want to pack my bators up and throw them as far as I can. I know it may be genetics but there could always be a chance that it was my fault. I've never had a deformed one (I hatch with a lot of prayer). God know me nor my kids could handle it. I had one that had a slipped tendon last year and I tried my best to help him for about out 4 months. We ended up culling him. That was very heartbreaking.

These are the things you have to deal with as hatcher. Hard decisions. Hang in there

there are lots. o chickens without otter toes. feathered legs are common to have rudimentary toes. I have have had a few in my Marans. it will be fine.

I have a MF Leghorn that lost its foot...it has never figured out how to walk I need to cull it but it is a MFL......I need it. but I think it has to be done.
