My next group hits their 28th day on August 4th.
On what day should I put them on lockdown?

am I reading that right? 28th day? what kind of eggs are they?

chicken eggs hatch in 21, most people go to lockdown on day 18. +

hoping either you typo'd or you're hatching something other than chickens.

Same here day 20 and I am wanting to open the bator .
enjoy a watched pot never boils ................ Hear that all day LOL anyway sometimes they pip at night betting you have good luck wishing you well what is in the bator ?

I am hatching duck eggs.
The chart I have says 28 days.

so you would lock down 3 days earlier typically...  unless they're Muscovy. they go 35 days I believe.

No nothing fancy like Muscovy.
Females are:
2 Mallard
2 White Peking
Drakes are:
2 Ancona mixed with Mallard

Pulled one out last night to see if it was alive. When I candled it you could see the beak pressing against the air cell but didn't look like it broke through. Also no peeping.
Put him back & didn't mess with the others.

THEY ARE HERE MY OWN EGGS are hatching YIPPY ...................... next week i tested my extra or new roo for fertility with the egg pen hens rir,austrolorps, orphington Buff and looks like all but 6 are fertile out of 36 i am so hyped i only collected for 3 days .



Now what to do with chicks as i am keeping or holding onto my dark bramahs for my genetics and any hens for the new roo out of patron,


what should i ask for day old mixed chick brown egg layer and dual purpose. ?

I usually get $3-5 for my blrw/dorking/ee mixed chicks up to about 3 weeks old.

Hatch day tomorrow!! but i saw some early pippers before work this morning. Can't wait to get home and see who
is out. !!! They are Ameraucanas and BCM's.
