Incubators Anonymous

Experienced hatchers I need advice!!!!

I got some eggs in the mail today and they were the DIRTIEST eggs I have ever seen! My hens have never laid eggs with that much poo on them and I have never received mail order eggs that literally had excrement caked to them!

After 30 min of gently brushing with a dry sponge, I got some off, but they still have poop all over them. (Photo is an AFTER photo!!!!)

Is it okay to even incubate these? I know eggs are porous and blood rings comes from bacteria in the egg. I have other (expensive!) eggs going in (Isbar, Blue Favorelles, Marraduna Basque) and I was wondering if they we be at risk for putting such dirty eggs in with them. It seems like adding poop to an incubator would be a playground of bacteria!!!

Input???

Firstly

ETA Getting dirty eggs sucks. I would demand a refund including shipping. But if you new they were dirty then you should have disclosed that.

Secondly - attempting to incubate.

I would but I would try and isolate them - other end of the bator and do not touch the other eggs after these. Candle at 7 days and toss any duds. Check for blood rings at 10 days and toss.

Okay, thank you so much!!!

I hate to just throw them away without trying, but defintely didn't want to put the other eggs at risk.
I would never ship someone eggs that looked like that!

white egg show dirt way more than brown eggs so it looks worse than it is. second I told you they would be dirty but would not effect your hatch. I hatch them all the time and sell them with FULL disclosed they are.dirty and have had nothing but good reports of hatches. AND I shipped you WAY more than you paid for to insure a good hatch. give them a try you will not have a problem with the eggs or any others in your bat bator. you have nothing to lose unless you throw them away.

I didn't realize I was buying dirty eggs.
And I never asked for a refund or complained to or about the seller.
Nor did I tell anyone who I got them from (or realize the seller was on this thread).
I'm fairly new to hatching eggs, you guys are the experts, I had some really expensive Isbar eggs going in there, I just wanted to know if that much poop could contaminate the other eggs because I know eggs are porous...
Wasn't trying to throw anyone under the bus just wanted to know if they were okay to incubate. I have never seen eggs that dirty.

they will all be just fine. :)

Nor was it my intention to upset anyone so I apologize.

I have incubated dirtier eggs and have had mixed success. none of them exploded - just lots of blood rings.

I still would give them a chance.

If you wash your hands before and after touching them and the other eggs you should be ok.

Okay thank you.
I really wasn't trying to be rude or upset anyone, I honestly didn't know if it could effect the hatch rate of other eggs. And defintely wasn't trying to put down the seller (I didn't even say where I bought them...)
