how can you tell if humidity is ok without hydrometer

you cannot tell accurately

you can weigh eggs and adjust humidity by water loss or at candling

well ill let it run Thursday and Friday… First or Friday and Saturday
to make sure it works fine.

I used the wet bulb/dry bulb method towards the end... it is still a guess but a closer guess

I'm investing in a hygrometer tho... too much thinking in the wet bulb/dry bulb method XD

I was going to wait until all of my current group hatched, clean the incubator and start again- but then today- today I got the most perfect, beautiful egg I have ever seen and.... I had to put it in there. I had to. *shakily takes a drink from the rocks glass*. The egg was just too perfect.

you do realize that eggs can sit on the shelf for a week or more without problems, right? makes it much easier to set more than 1 at a time.

If the pullets had not been with other roos PRIOR to your penning them together the eggs will be fertile in 24hrs. If they were with different roos.... 2 weeks wait.

I collect eggs for a week and set eggs on Saturdays and lock down on wednesday or thursday EVERY WEEK.... keep it easy that way.

If the pullets had not been with other roos PRIOR to your penning them together the eggs will be fertile in 24hrs. If they were with different roos.... 2 weeks wait.

i cant cool eggs to 60F - temps are 78 in my egg room so i set every 4 days. it gives me time to get the hatcher clean between cycles.
