Incubators Anonymous

Hi everybody! I am in need of thermometer recommendations. I have three bators-one old LG, one new design LG, and one Janoel digital DH bought me as surprise for Christmas. The LG thermometers are junk so I trashed them. I bought these with three stations, one for each incubator. I was so excited to be able to monitor temp and humidity of all three from the living room. Unfortunately they are super slow to respond to changes and the accuracy is questionable. The receiver also won't pick up the signals even within the house if the stations are actually in the bators. My best thermometer is a digital meat thermometer but its small and has to be positioned on top of the eggs and reset every two minutes because it turns off. By the time the bator temp recovers from me opening the lid to reset the thermometer, the dang things shuts off. Does the perfect thermometer exist? I want one which is easily set up at egg level, easily calibrated by placing in boiling water, has no auto shut off, and rapidly responds to changes? And reads to the first decimal space. And I would live to be able to read it from outside the bator, lol! I'm not asking for much right?!?

I'm using the Zilly thermometer and hygrometer combo in one bator and a All Living Things combo in the other. They are just alike and I have had no prob with them. You can calibrate them too for temp and humidity. Both of these have been accurate on temp but off a couple degrees on the humidity.. I do have a meat thermometer set at egg level in my Hovabator just poke thru the side. And also a bulb thermometer inside. Three to see whats going on. The Hovabator I'm having trouble regulating the temp and have put in a water wiggler thing .. a baggie of water folded in half and the thermometer probe is in the middle of it to simulate the internal temp of the egg.
For some reason the All Living Things combo does not come with instructions but the Zilly one instruction manual is online and works for it. Zilly does come instructions.

Anyone know if the old LG auto turner would fit in the Hovabator genesis? I want a genesis to incubate, & would use the LG as a hatcher, but don't need another turner.

I am thinking I am going to use heat emitters in the new brooder boxes. Since there will be 3 sections each with its own emitter how many watts would I need in a room that is insulated and should hold its heat pretty well? I was thinking 75 watts but not sure how much heat they really put off. The room is about 12 x 30 and will have an incubator and hatcher and 3 brooder boxes with chicks. ALL putting of some heat. The 100 watts are cheaper than 75 watts. I can put them on thermostats if that would be better.

Here it is. :D

My FI Circulated Air Incubator with Auto turning tray. I set it up yesterday afternoon and after getting it adjusted it seems to be holding temp like a champ. Cant wait for my eggs to get here to try it out.

WOOT WOOT!!! gotta love when they run regular temps! My hova is hard to regulate unless the turner is full of eggs I found. pain in the hiney.. put a fan in it to help out and seems good now but crazy first week trying to regulate temp.
