Incubators Anonymous

a good test hatch for local eggs would be 10 or more IMO. the larger the sample the better you'll know if it's the incubator or you.

and don't count clear eggs against your hatch rates. you have no control over the rooster! if there was a blood ring or any development beyond that, then it was fertile and counts in the final tally.

What is the lumber like? What size planks can you get from one, and how is it to work with??
my last 2 trees (all dimensional lumber - not 1/2 inch smaller)

4 - 2x6x16
4 - 2x6x12
30 - 2x4x16
18 - 2x3x16
6 - 2x2x12
6 - 2x2x16

if it touches the ground termites will inhale it but otherwise great wood

the skins are ridiculously hard and we use them on our coops (or this goat house)

I'm a new hatchery, have my first set of eggs on day 10 and I'm in love! We'll see if so is the case after these are done or not. I need to start building brooders for all these chicks I plan to have and coops. I have a chestnut tree I'm going to cut down, but it will become firewood probably. It would be nice to find contractors extras around here, but I haven't found much to scrounge yet since I just moved to TN from IA. Glad I could join

I just found out the saw mill has slab wood for $20 a BUNDLE they are like 10-12 feet long with the bark on and maybe 40-50 in a bundle. We have 3-4 saw mills in my little town surely you have one near you.

See if you can find a new subdivision dumpster diving LOL

usually the longest boards in the construction projects have been used for concrete forms, terrible for saw blades (just keep a blade for that purpose), the chicken coop won't mind a little concrete.
