Incubators Anonymous

well, I have a 3 more hatches due this month. the 16th, 25th and the 30th. it's the last hurrah before our largest swap of the spring/summer, so i'll have LOTS of SFH and bantam cochins to go with me. and NO mutts or easter eggers at all, for the first time ever!

What kind of bantam cochins do you have? I have some barred 8 weeks fairly sure 3 roo's 1 pullet. Then I have buff brahma's 5 pullets.. lost the bantam roulette on both those. Need to get some more of both

Now that my chicks are 6 weeks, any guesses what breed they are?
I'll give you the choices of breed the store sells:
Ameracauna, Black Ausrtalorp, Golden Comet, Silver coated Wyandotte, Gold Laced Wyandottes, Barred Rock, Buff Orphington, Speckled Sussex, RIR....
Any Ideas?
And the last picture are my three Khaki Cambells, not sure if male or female.

the black and grey one are SLW(siver laced wyandotte's) I have 13 just like them....100% sure on the one in the front in picture 3,4 and 5..number 1 could be a barred rock looks like some faint barring in feather...the brown/wheaton one in picture one i would keep and eye on looking a little roo like...at least in that picture..but you brown's have 2 differant combs types one has what looks like a straight comb the other looks more pea like a possible Amercauna or EE which

got my STc-1000 in the mail a few days ago, tried wiring it up for a light bulb as the heat source, first attempt was a fail haha but on the second try i was able to make it work.

once i got the light bulb working, i took apart the hovabator incubator and re wired it with the STC-1000 removing the light, the power cord, and the wafer thermostat, finished pretty late last night around 11:30Pm left it on all night this morning was holding temp at around 96.6 degrees today all i have to do is adjust the STC for maybe about 38.0 degrees celsius maybe even 38.2 and should bring my temp close to the 99.9 mark,

in less then 24 hrs this new set up has been holding temp better then the original set up of the hovabator

I've just separated the pens for my reds and Columbians, just hatched my first silver laced and combined my blue mottled and mille fleur pens together, so they'll produce mille fleur and bbs mottled with some leakage. they're all project pens with a goal of improving type first and foremost, then worry about color/pattern later.
